Sometimes Young People Just Need Someone to Listen

Not every meaningful community programme needs to begin with a formal lecture.

Sometimes young people simply need a welcoming place where they can sit, talk and know that someone is prepared to listen.

Coffee Talk can provide an informal environment for conversations about stress, loneliness, relationships, studies, careers, family pressures and other challenges affecting young people.

Community leaders do not have to pretend to be counsellors.

Our role can be to listen without judgement, recognise when someone may need professional support and help connect them with appropriate assistance.

Strong communities are built when people know that they do not have to face every difficulty alone.
